Stories from the Heart

Sun Mar 22, 2009, 1:31 PM
It's been a week since the "main story" of Clannad finished, yet I'm still watching the ending. I almost dropped the series 30 episodes ago, but now I'm glad I managed to see it through the end.

It's hard to describe why it resonates with me so much. It's a story that has so many facets that you can almost get lost in the telling, yet in the end, you feel so strongly for each of the characters in it. You learn to laugh when they're happy, and cry when they're sad.

Clannad is about families. The rough boy whose father is alienated from him. The shy girl whose family loves her, yet hides their past from her. The little one whose love for her sister is so great that her spirit reaches out from the hospital to wish her well on her wedding day.

I highly recommend the show to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

You may be a king,
or just a street sweaper,
But sooner or later,
You'll dance with The Reaper.

Interesting little tale, that. Reminds me of one I read entitled "her eyes," really.

Small gallery, but the artwork has impressively clean lines--I envy that--and a theme, which gives a pleasant progression as one browses through the images.

As for the comment on missing your "little low-population server," good luck with that. I hear assassination can be quite useful for that type of problem.

I'm kidding, of course.

Okay, okay, so it's not really published. But it's probably the closest I'll ever come.

a really nice piece. My husband is working to be an arthor (researching books, workshops, and lots of writing of course) so I've gone though a small bit of stuff. This is a nice clean piece with good imagery, just enough info with out killing it and a good happy ending with still leaning it up to the reader what really just happened. Keep at it, you've got a really good grip on sci-fi.
