0328 Saria Anison

Saria was a normal human woman, a free-spirited bard and fighter following tales of treasure and adventure along with her lover and companion Eron. This changed for the worse when, delving into an ancient ruin, she activated a forgotten dragon altar and was overcome by powerful magic. Whether corrupted by time or sabotage, the ritual in the ancient altar twisted her flesh and filled her mind with berserk rage. Eron managed to clear the blood haze from her mind, but was mortally wounded by Saria's rampage, dying in her arms as she came to her senses.

Distraught and heartbroken, Saria wandered the wilderness alone for a time, avoiding civilization out of guilt and self-loathing until fate would lead her to the Sisters of Anora, a group of powerful and renowned adventurers who helped her come to terms with her curse. Now, she uses her supernatural strength and endurance in conjunction with her skill with sword and shield to protect the innocent and hunt down the agents of evil.

This is the first of two design drawings for Saria, an old Neverwinter Nights character adapted into an NPC for the Anora campaign setting. More stuff to come later.
