Federation Special Forces (2008 ver.)

A balance between stealth and firepower, the Federation's 6th Fleet Special Operations Command typically deploys its teams of Navy SpecOps agents with a single squad of the elite 33rd Marine Division. Dropped in the harshest and most volatile environments, these teams of no more than a dozen personnel are expected to operate for up to two weeks without external support. For these, the best soldiers the Federation has to offer, failure is never an option.

In the shadow of the Scourge War, as the myriad factions continue to battle each other for control over the resources of the Outer Rim, task forces such as these are some of the best options available to the Federation for ensuring that their interests are met.

Developed near the end of the Scourge War, the Joint Forces Infiltration Armor is a highly advanced armor that combines compact kinetic protection with the latest in active camouflage and stealth coatings. The revolutionary micro-fusion cell designed specifically for the JFIA project allows the suit to function for weeks without recharging, allowing Special Forces using them to operate for extended periods away from support elements. The only significant differences between the Marine and Navy model are the external interfaces and minor performance tweaks specific for their intended roles.
